The New York Times has appointed Marjorie Olster as lead editor for the Arab world, managing bureaus in Cairo, Beirut and Baghdad. She has recently been serving as senior news editor for International at The Times.
Prior to joining The Times, Olster was new editor, Middle East at The Wall Street Journal. She also held the same post at The Associated Press.
Olster has a M.A. in journalism from the University of Florida.
