Karen Zraick, a general assignment reporter on The New York Times’ Metro desk, will now cover the Brooklyn courts beat.

As per the Times:

“Karen will be our primary reporter on the local courts as well as the federal Eastern District, which serves up a rich buffet of stories that often transcend national borders — befitting her globe-trotting experience.”

Since joining the Times in 2013, Zraick has been an editor on the international desk, live briefings, the home page, and a breaking news reporter on the express desk.

Prior to the Times, she was a homepage editor at the New York Daily News. Before that, she was a general assignment reporter based in New York for the Associated Press.

She also serves on the board of the Arab and Middle Eastern Journalists Association.

Zraick has degrees from Purchase College, SUNY and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
