NY Times taps Stewart as deputy editor for narrative projects

Dodai Stewart will be joining special projects as the deputy editor for narrative projects at The New York Times.

Stewart previously worked as deputy editor on the metro desk at the publication.

Before joining the Times, Stewart worked freelance. Prior to that, she was with Fusion Media Network for more than three years, joining as director, culture coverage. Later on, she held the posts of executive editor and then editor-in-chief of Splinter.

She has also served as deputy editor at Jezebel.com, Gawker Media, and held the post of executive editor at J-14 Magazine, Bauer Publishing.

Stewart is a screenwriting major in the dramatic writing department at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
