Karan Deep Singh has joined The New York Times’ Headway team as a visual reporter and producer, based in Canada.
An award-winning journalist, Singh has been with the Times for more than four years, joining as a freelance reporter, producer and cinematographer. He also served as a staff reporter and visual journalist covering the economy, politics and technology in South Asia.
At The Wall Street Journal, he held the posts of staff reporter; South Asia visual journalist/reporter; and freelance producer, reporter and photographer.
He also interned at and freelanced for the BBC.
Singh has a bachelor’s degree from Delhi University in India and a master’s degree from Jamia Millia Islamia, also in India.
