Jaspal Riyait who has been art-directing The New York Times’ service journalism content, has been appointed senior staff editor.
Riyait joined The Times’ digital news design team in 2018. Since then, she has collaborated with various desks and teams. Prior to joining The Times, she was a design director at Martha Stewart Living Magazine, Meredith Corporation.
She has also worked at Condé Nast, Hearst Magazines, and The Wall Street Journal.
Her work has been recognized by the Society of Publication & Design, Society of News Design, Society of Illustrators, National Magazine, OAAG, American Society of Magazine Editors and the Advertising Design Club of Canada.
