The New York Times has named Kevin Quealy editor of The Upshot, which provides news on politics, economics and everyday life.
Quealy joined The Upshot on its debut in 2014, covering sports, politics, health care and income inequality. In 2016, he was appointed deputy editor. He joined the Times in 2008 as a graphics intern.
Quealy has a bachelor’s degree in physics from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. and a master’s degree from the Missouri School of Journalism.
