Previously, she was deputy opinion editor at Newsweek and associate opinion editor at U.S. News & World Report in Washington. At both of those publications, she edited columns and commentary about politics, health care, culture and more.
For five years, Rachel volunteered with Street Sense Media, a D.C. newspaper that elevates the voices of people experiencing homelessness. She is also a freelance music writer, covering concerts in the New York City area.
