The New York Times has promoted Crystal Arroyo to the post of editor, digital storytelling and training, a new role within newsroom development and support.
She begins her new role on April 25.
Arroyo joined the Times on a contractual basis as a news assistant in 2004. She then joined full-time in 2005, and since then, has served as a senior news assistant, news technology specialist and news technology senior staff editor.
Arroyo has a B.A. in journalism from Brooklyn College.
