NY Times promotes two in Food and Cooking

The following excerpt was sent out from The New York Times’ Emily Weinstein, Genevieve Ko, Emily Fleischaker and Scott Loitsch:

We’re thrilled to announce two promotions in Food and Cooking: Margaux Laskey is now an associate editor, focused on recipes for New York Times Cooking, and Gina Fernandez is now our video production coordinator, a new role on the team.

Margaux Laskey

Margaux, a 20-year veteran of The Times, started as a temporary clerk, spending years in Weddings, Graphics and Newsroom Administration before arriving in Food to work on NYT Cooking, then in its infancy. She eventually became one of our recipe editors, and now, as a manager, Margaux is leading a lane of recipe development devoted to the simple recipes we know readers want and need.

Gina Fernandez

Since joining The Times in early 2019, Gina has been instrumental to the success of the NYT Cooking video and social team, establishing strong systems for our growing operation and making sure production runs smoothly.

This new title not only elevates Gina and expands her role, but also builds on her accomplishments. The work she has done to create a strong production arm for the video team has allowed us to grow so much that we’re now also hiring a video operations manager and, soon, a post-production coordinator, who’ll work alongside Gina.
