The following was sent out from The New York Times’ editorial director Opinion Allison Benedikt and Opinion Audio executive producer Annie-Rose Strasser:
We are excited to share some news from Opinion Audio.
Alison Bruzek, whom you all know as the terrific leader of “The Argument” team and who has stepped up in so many ways in Opinion Audio in the past many months, is being promoted to supervising producer. Alison will be working closely with Annie-Rose to develop and launch new shows and to provide editorial oversight and support for our current ones. As everyone who has worked with Alison knows, she is a calm, organized and motivating leader, and we’re thrilled for her to bring those attributes to the full department in an official capacity.
Shannon Busta is being promoted to Opinion Audio’s senior manager for audience and operations. In this new leadership role, Shannon will work closely with Annie-Rose and Alison Bruzek to develop and implement systems across the department to improve communication, collaboration and workflow. She will continue to oversee our audio audience team, coordinating show promotion within The New York Times and growing our overall promotional muscles, and will be a key partner between Op Audio and wider Opinion.
Kristin Lin is also starting in a new role this week — as the production coordinator for “The Ezra Klein Show.” As an editorial assistant, her versatility, curiosity, editorial judgement and attention to detail have added so much to the EKS team already. In this new role, she’ll be helping the show revamp processes and manage workflows while also contributing to editorial goals like finding great guests and spearheading a new and improved search process. Rogé Karma and team are ecstatic to have Kristin officially join their operation.
Congratulations to everyone on their new roles.
