NY Times promotes Skog to assistant managing editor, programming

Karron Skog

The New York Times has tapped Karron Skog to serve as assistant managing editor for programming. As per the Times:

“In the new position, Karron will oversee and shape the continued evolution of programming on the home screen and on other digital surfaces.

“She will also have an enhanced role working with our product partners in developing new programming tools and showcasing the broader offerings from audio and from our partners at Cooking, Wirecutter, Games and The Athletic.”

Skog joined the Times in 2005 as a staff editor. She then served as a senior staff editor, deputy night editor, editor of the news desk, editorial director for Smarter Living and associate managing editor.

Before that, she was a copy desk chief at The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va.

Skog has a B.A. from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
