The New York Times has tapped Scott Dodd to serve as National’s director of news to oversee coverage of live and breaking news. Recently, Dodd was a National day editor.
Before that, he served as a senior staff editor on the National and Flex desk. Prior to the Times, he held the executive editor post at Grist and was as Gaston bureau chief, real estate and growth reporter and general assignment reporter at The Charlotte Observer.
He also held reporter and editor roles at York Daily Record and ydr.com.
