Chris Cameron, a news assistant at The New York Times, has been upped to serve as national politics reporter covering breaking news.
In four-plus years at the Times, Cameron has pitched on almost every beat, and for the National, International and Politics desks. He has also worked on weekends for Express.
In August, 2022, he was awarded the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship to report in Berlin for Süddeutsche Zeitung, in its Parliament bureau. During this time, he also wrote for the Times.
He was also awarded the Marie Colvin International Reporting Fellowship, via which he covered the Chinese gaming industry for The Wall Street Journal.
He has also worked as a general assignment reporter and freelance writer for Newsday Media Group.
Cameron has a B.A. in journalism from Stony Brook University in New York, where he was a multimedia editor for the student newspaper The Statesman.
