NY Times names Sullivan lead breaking news reporter

The New York Times has tapped Eileen Sullivan to serve as lead breaking news reporter for the Washington bureau. As per the Times:

“She will work with Glenn Thrush to broaden our coverage of the Justice Department, including drug policy and the fentanyl crisis. She will help bolster our team covering the Trump trials and hearings. She will take on stories on the V.A. and USAID, and pitch in on Biden campaign trips. She will continue to do enterprise, particularly on national security.”

Sullivan has covered homeland security, immigration, border security and related topics for the past six years. Prior to joining the Times, she worked at The Associated Press for more than nine years.

She also reported on homeland security and Congress for Congressional Quarterly, and has also served at The Federal Times and the Courier Post in South Jersey.

Sullivan graduated from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
