The New York Times has tapped Max Strasser as editor of the newly renamed and redesigned Sunday Opinion. Strasser will be based in New York.
An excerpt from the announcement reads:
Max will bring his keen judgment, editorial skill and experience in Opinion to the section, where he will curate Sunday Opinion, assign and edit long-form essays and work with Opinion’s story editors, columnists and contributing writers on Opinion’s signature weekly print product. Additionally, he will be working with The Times’s newest columnist, Lydia Polgreen.”
Recently, Strasser was an assistant editor, based in London, and a staff editor. His work has appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, Foreign Affairs and The Nation. He was an associate editor at Foreign Policy and a staff writer at Newsweek.
Strasser has a B.A. from Oberlin College and an MSc. from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
