Patrick Healy is the next deputy editor of Opinion at The New York Times.
In his new role, he will oversee columnists, editorials, guest essays, special projects, art, video and audio. He will also help develop strategy, find new ways to lift coverage and reach new audiences.
Healy has been with the Times for more than 16 years, joining as a reporter. He was then made deputy culture editor and then was promoted to the post of politics editor.
Prior to joining the Times, he was a political analyst at CNN. Healy was also a host at NY1 News and was a reporter at Boston Globe Media. He has also worked as a political reporter and as a political editor at The Chronicle of Higher Education.
He was also a reporter at both New Hampshire Union Leader and Foster’s Daily Democrat.
Healy is a graduate of Tufts University.
