Claudio Cabrera is being promoted to deputy audience director at The New York Times. Cabrera has been with The Times for more than 4 years, joining as a senior digital strategist, SEO, and then serving as deputy off-platform director, news SEO.
In his new role, Cabrera will oversee the newsroom’s editorial search team and will also play a key role in expanding audiences in new markets, diversifying readership, and supporting the live and breaking news teams.
Cabrera has also worked at CBS Local Digital Media as an audience development and engagement manager, and as a director of social and search strategy. He has also served as an audience engagement and marketing manager and then as a managing director of digital content at Black Enterprise.
He was also an audience development manager at Interactive One and has worked as a digital marketing manager at Yoonew Inc.
Cabrera holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Brooklyn College.
