The New York Times has tapped Larissa Anderson as deputy director of audio. Anderson is an accomplished editor who will help in the daily running of the department and help plan future NYT Audio programming.
She will also continue to support The Daily in training, recruiting, standards, staffing and long-term growth. She has previously also worked at American Public Media and Minnesota Public Radio. Anderson graduated from the University of Minnesota.
Mike Benoist has been promoted to the post of deputy editor for The Daily. Benoist joined NYT Audio after a long career as a magazine editor. In his new role, Benoist will help conceive and edit high-impact stories, manage editors and producers, develop coverage priorities, greenlight episodes and chart future growth.
Anita Badejo has been named supervising editor for The Daily. Previously, she served as a senior editor, narrative. Badejo joined The Times from Pop-Up Magazine in San Francisco, where she recently was an executive editor and co-host. She has also worked at BuzzFeed.
In her new role, Badejo will lead The Daily’s efforts on recruiting, staff development and training, including identifying new opportunities for team members to grow and develop. She will also continue to edit its episodes. Badejo graduated from Brown University.
