The following was sent out from The New York Times’ Nandi Rodrigo:
I’m very happy to announce that Christian Smith has joined the Magazine’s research department as a staff research editor.
Over the past seven years, Christian has been a casual fact-checker for T: The New York Times Style Magazine and The New York Times Magazine. He was part of the team behind Mona Chalabi’s piece “9 Ways to Imagine Jeff Bezos’ Wealth,” which won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize in Illustrated Reporting and Commentary.
He previously ran the research departments at Maxim and Stuff magazines, and was an editor at the music magazine Mixer. He has a master’s degree in journalism from New York University.
Please join me in welcoming him.
