The New York Times has tapped Neel Patel to serve as a staff editor in Opinion. Recently, he was a senior editor of science and innovation at The Daily Beast.
Previously, Patel worked as a space reporter at MIT Technology Review and freelanced as a science and tech journalist. He held the posts of staff writer and associate editor at Inverse.com.
He was an editorial fellow at Wired and interned at Popular Science.
Patel has a B.S. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and an M.A. in journalism from New York University.
