Mike Peed, who has been working on The New York Times Flex desk, will join Politics as a senior staff editor. The Times reports:
“He’ll be working a swing shift, editing breaking news and all manner of stories by day while also minding the store on Friday and Saturday nights.”
Peed joined the Times newsroom in 2011 when he helped establish Opinion’s research department. He also assigned and edited pieces for the Op-Ed page and Sunday Review.
He has also contributed to the Book Review and Metro. Later, he left the Times to work on a book and returned to the newsroom in March 2022.
He has also worked at The Washington Post and The National Journal.
