NY Times appoints Kingsley as its next Jerusalem bureau chief

Patrick Kingsley

Patrick Kingsley has been named Jerusalem bureau chief at The New York Times.

Currently, Kingsley is based in Berlin and works as an international correspondent for the Times.

In his new role, Kingsley will replace current Jerusalem bureau chief David Halbfinger.

Previously, he has also worked at The Guardian for nearly seven years, where he has worked as a feature writer, Egypt correspondent, and migration correspondent.

He has also lectured on migration at both Oxford and Cambridge universities, the most memorable one being the 2016 Harrell-Bond Lecture at Oxford, an annual address that has previously been made by the heads of both the United Nations, and the United Nations refugee agency.

Kingsley also appears on international television and radio channels, including CNN, BBC, PBS, ABC, CBC, RTE and ARD.

He has authored two books, “The New Odyssey (2016)” and “How To Be Danish (2012).”

He is also a former Foreign Reporter of the Year at the British Journalism Awards.
