The New York Times has promoted Jake Grovum to associate director, off-platform overseeing work on social and other emerging platforms. Recently, he held the post of deputy off-platform editor and before that, served as a social strategy editor.
Grovum has also worked as a social media journalist, U.S. social media editor, acting head of social media and U.S. head of audience engagement at the Financial Times. He has also written and edited for Stateline in Washington.
He was also a staff writer at Politics in Minnesota.
Grovum graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
