Adrienne Carter, Asia editor at The New York Times since August 2019, has taken over the role of Europe editor.

“There is no one better suited to lead our London newsroom than Adrienne Carter, who does everything with smarts and passion,” said Michael Slackman, assistant managing editor. “She is a superb journalist, a visionary, a leader. But most of all, she is a fierce advocate for our people.”

During 12 years with the Times, Carter has held the posts of news editor for DealBook, news editor, international business editor and deputy business editor.

Prior to joining the Times, she was a vice president at Morgan Stanley and was a writer/editor at Bloomberg Businessweek. She also wrote for Money Magazine.
