The following was sent out from Monica Drake, Ted Kim and Carla Correa:

The New York Times today opened applications for its 2024–25 Times Fellowship, a yearlong work program aimed at cultivating the next generation of journalists for both The Times and the industry at large. Since 2020, more than a hundred fellows have graduated to journalism positions around the country and the world.

Each fall, we recruit a class of reporters, editors and visual journalists from a diversity of backgrounds. Fellows work full time and in person across a range of departments in the newsroom and Opinion section. They are paid and receive benefits, as well as gain access to training, speakers and a writing coach.

The most competitive candidates will be college graduates or postgraduates or career pivoters of any age with some experience who have a strong passion for independent journalism.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Dec. 1, after which the program directors and top editors from around the newsroom will choose the class.

The fellowship begins in June 2024 and runs through May 2025. Interested candidates can apply here.
