Helina Selemon has joined the New York Amsterdam News’ investigative unit The Blacklight as a science reporter. She is an adjunct lecturer at Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
Previously, Selemon was an audience development lead at The Associated Press, where she worked with the Health and Science team to boost visibility, usage and impact of health and science stories. She also freelanced.
Selemon additionally held editorial roles at BRIGHT Magazine and the New York City News Service.
Selemon has a bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University and a M.A. from The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
