Deepa Shivaram, a political reporter at NPR, has taken on the role of White House correspondent. She joined NPR in July 2021 as a general assignment digital reporter.
Previously, Shivaram held the posts of producer, research assistant for “Meet the Press,” associate producer for “Meet the Press” and “Meet the Press Daily,” 2020 campaign embed and race and politics reporter at NBC News.
She interned at and worked as a desk producer at BBC News.
Shivaram has a B.A. in journalism and political science from The George Washington University, where she worked at the student newspaper.

Megan Pratz has taken on the role of senior editor. Recently, she held the post of political editor. She joined NPR from Cheddar in August 2022, where she held the posts of political director and executive producer.
Pratz freelanced for Fox News and was a producer at Al Jazeera.
Pratz has a B.A. in journalism and psychology from the University of Maryland.

Casey Morell has been appointed producer II on the NPR Politics Podcast, where he recently held the post of producer.
Previously, Morell served as an associate producer and director of “All Things Considered.” Prior to joining NPR, he was at Nevada Public Radio, where he worked as a coordinating producer and newscast anchor. In addition, he interned at and was an editorial assistant at Orlando Weekly.
Morell has a B.A. from New College of Florida and a M.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Barbara Sprunt, who had been working on NPR’s National desk, is been upped to reporter II.
During her 10 years with NPR, Sprunt has served as an intern, executive assistant of the news division, editorial assistant/researcher of the elections unit, producer and reporter on the Washington desk, and senior politics editor.
She also worked as a general assignment reporter at WAMU-FM 88.5.
Sprunt graduated from American University.
