Nonprofit news outlet hires McCracken as reporter

John McCracken

John McCracken has joined the independent nonprofit newsroom Investigate Midwest as a reporter. Since March 2023, he has been a contributing writer at Grist.

McCracken joined Grist in August 2022 as a Midwest reporting fellow. He also contributed to Ambrook in New York. He also freelanced for several outlets, including The Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting and The Capital Times.

McCracken has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
