Newsquest has tapped Joy Yates to serve as regional editor for Cumbria, a role in which she will oversee the sister dailies News & Star and The Mail. Recently, she held the post of acting editor for North Cumbria.
Yates served as regional director JPIMedia North East and editorial director for Johnston Press North East, where she worked for more than nine years.
Yates graduated from York, St. John’s College.
