Newsday hires Valeeva as data reporter

Anastasia Valeeva

Newsday has tapped Anastasia Valeeva to serve as a data reporter on its investigations team. She was a data fellow at The Marshall Project, where she worked on data projects, data research, scraping, analysis, reporting, visualization and more.

Valeeva was also a fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, where she researched the use of open data in Russian investigative journalism.

Valeeva has a bachelor’s degree from Lomonosov Moscow State University and a master’s degree from Universität Siegen.
