The New York Times has expanded distribution of El Times, its Spanish-language newsletter to three times a week by adding a new Sunday section.
El Times’ Sunday edition will continue to be curated and authored by Elda Cantú, an editor based in Mexico City, who has led the newsletter since 2019.
Recently, subscribers had been receiving a Tuesday and Friday edition with the stories happening in Latin America and around the world. Now, the Sunday section will add inspirational and entertaining reads, health and lifestyle features from Well and more.
Michael Slackman, assistant managing editor for International at the Times said:
“With a third weekly edition of El Times, we are very excited at the chance to engage a potentially vast new readership seeking to understand an increasingly complicated world.
“Our aim is to extend the impact of some of our most important work by making it accessible to Spanish speakers in the U.S. and around the world.”
