Laura Bassett will now cover the 2024 election for the New York Magazine and The Cut. She wrote on X/Twitter:
“Excited to get back to writing! My DMs are open for tips.”
Previously, Bassett served as editor-in-chief of Jezebel, from where she resigned in August, citing “tensions at the workplace” before the website shuttered.
At The Huffington Post for nine years, Bassett covered women’s rights and health. She also won a grant from the Pulitzer Center to report on unsafe abortion in Kenya.
She has won the “Planned Parenthood’s Media Excellence Award” for feature writing and commentary twice.
She has also appeared as a guest on CNN and MSNBC.
Bassett has a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in English language and literature from Georgetown University.
Be sure to congratulate Bassett on X/Twitter.
