New role for Lowell Sun journalist Scanlon

Barry Scanlon

Barry Scanlon has been named assistant regional sports editor of the Boston Herald, Lowell Sun and Fitchburg Sentinel & Enterprise.

Scanlon joined the Lowell Sun in 1997 as assistant sports editor. In 2019, he moved up to a correspondent role. Prior to the Sun, he served as a sports editor at Foster’s Sunday Citizen and a sports writer at Foster’s Daily Democrat in New Hampshire.

Scanlon has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University.
