NBC Telemundo hires Valles, promotes Mendez

Bernadette Valles has been named VP of Brand and Strategic Marketing and Edwin Mendez promoted to Marketing Director at KXAS NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth and KXTX Telemundo 39.

Their new roles take effect immediately.

Valles arrives to the NBC/Telemundo duopoly from Univision, where she worked for almost 23 years, exiting the Dallas station as director of operations. She was director of marketing and creative services at Univision Dallas from 2000 to 2018.

Valles, who will spearhead marketing efforts for both stations, will report to Tony Canales, President and GM of KXAS and KXTX.

Mendez has been director of marketing for Telemundo 39 since 2018. He previously held leadership and consulting roles for marketing companies.

Mendez also spent 19 years as Univision network as VP Creative Services and Branded Entertainment, Network Sales Partnership Marketing Group. Before that he was entertainment and production manager at Telemundo Puerto Rico.
