Brianne Pfannenstiel has joined NBC News as a contributor. She will continue in her current role of chief politics reporter at the Des Moines Register, where she covers the Iowa caucuses and the 2024 presidential race.
Pfannenstiel joined in February 2015 as a statehouse reporter. Before that, she was a health care and legal reporter at the Kansas City Business Journal. She was also editor of political news website PoliticalFiber.com.
Previously, she filled a temporary position in the Kansas City Star’s Johnson County bureau covering news and features.
Pfannenstiel graduated from the University of Kansas.
