NBC News taps Sridhar to serve as Atlanta-based correspondent

NBCUniversal has appointed Priya Sridhar to the post of Atlanta-based correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC. She will begin in January, leaving her post as a political reporter and host of the weekly show “Politically Speaking” at San Diego’s NBC station KNSD-TV Ch. 39.

Previously, Sridhar covered general assignments, breaking news and in-depth features around San Diego County for KPBS-TV Ch. 15, a PBS member station, and worked as a reporter at KENS-TV Ch. 5, a CBS affiliate in San Antonio.

She also held the posts of Washington/special correspondent and morning show co-host at the news and entertainment channel Arise News. She also worked as a video journalist at The Associated Press.

She freelanced for Al Jazeera and interned at CNN International, NBC News and ABC News.

Sridhar has a B.A. in government and history from Bowdoin College in Maine and an M.A. in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University.
