Kristen Welker, a White House correspondent at NBC News has taken on the role of moderator of “Meet the Press.” Her first show as a full-time host will be Sept. 17.
Welker has been with NBC News for more than a decade and served as NBC News correspondent in the Burbank bureau.
She also reported for Philly NBC station WCAU-TV Ch. 10; WLNE-TV Ch. 6, an ABC affiliate in New Bedford, Mass. and KRCR-TV Ch. 7, an ABC station in Redding, Calif., where she was also an anchor.
Welker has a B.A. from Harvard University.
