N.C. paper appoints Tinklepaugh editor

Eugene Tinklepaugh

Eugene Tinklepaugh has joined North Carolina-based daily newspaper Rocky Mount Telegram as an editor. Commenting on his new role, he said:

“There’s definitely a legacy here that I want to honor. Knowing [editor] Jeff Herrin and knowing [the late editor] Gene Metrick, I understand that community is important (to newspaper coverage) and keeping the community informed.”

Previously, Tinklepaugh worked at the daily newspaper for more than five years from August 2007 to December 2012 as a copy editor. He also worked as a staff writer for four years at the Washington Daily News.

Tinklepaugh has an M.A. from East Carolina University and a Doctor of Education (EdD) from North Carolina State University.
