Murphy departs State House News after 12 years

Matthew Murphy

Matthew Murphy, a senior reporter and associate editor, has left State House News in Massachusetts after 12 years. His tweet reads:

“It’s bittersweet to leave my professional home of so long, but I want to thank all my colleagues, sources and friends in the press for making it a hell of a ride. More on what’s next soon.”

Murphy served as a town reporter, education reporter and statehouse bureau chief at the Lowell Sun, also in Massachusetts. He also interned at Newsday and the New York Daily News.

Murphy graduated from New York University.
