Mumbrella adds two to its editorial team

The following excerpt was sent out from Mumbrella:

Following the appointment of Neil Griffiths to the role of editor this week, Mumbrella has expanded its editorial team with two additions.

Kalila Welch

Kalila Welch returns to the company, having first joined in November 2021 as an editorial assistant, before eventually heading up the creative and PR agency beat. Welch departed in May 2023 to complete a Masters of Journalism and Communication at UNSW. In addition to her study, Welch holds a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in Advertising, and has several years of experience in small business marketing.

“It’s great to be back with team Mumbrella after a short time away,” Welch said.

“After a busy first week back at SXSW, I can’t wait to see what this industry has in store next.”

Matthew Leong

Meanwhile, Matthew Leong has joined Mumbrella as its new editorial assistant. Prior to joining the company Leong worked as a content writer for an MSP marketing agency and completed internships at Happy Media and LivewireAU.

“I’m really excited to be joining the Mumbrella team and being given the opportunity to work with the company’s media, advertising and journalism experts,” Leong said.

“I can’t wait to see what events we throw, what stories we uncover and how my role as editorial assistant will evolve.”
