Sarah Glover has joined MPR News as a managing editor.
In her new role, Glover will lead a team of more than 40 reporters, photojournalists and editors, and will be responsible for editorial decisions and planning across MPR News platforms.
She will also collaborate with MPR News’ program director Stephanie Curtis, who leads more than 30 newsroom staff members as hosts, newscasters, meteorologists, and producers.
She will be working alongside both Curtis and MPR president Duchesne Drew to champion the development of both a vision and strategy to best serve and cover the state’s diverse communities.
Glover joins from NBC-owned Television Stations, where she served as manager of social media strategy. She brings 23 years of local journalism experience to the newsroom, including more than a decade at the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News as a staff photographer.
She led her video team on the Pulitzer Prize-winning while at the Philadelphia Daily News.
Glover also served two terms as president of the National Association of Black Journalists, hers being the first two-term presidency in NABJ’s history.
She is also a 2021 Nieman Visiting Fellow at Harvard University.
Glover is a B.A. in photojournalism and African American studies from Syracuse University and a M.A. in communication studies from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Currently, she is pursuing an M.B.A. from Temple University Fox School of Business.
