The New York Times has appointed Sara Ziegler News Print Hub sports content editor. In her new role, she will manage the sports presentation for print and help to inform digital planning priorities.
Recently, Ziegler was deputy editor for strategy and operations on the now-shuttered Sports desk. Prior to joining the Times in July 2022, she was at FiveThirtyEight, where she held the posts of general editor, assistant sports editor and sports editor.
She was an editor at Law360 and worked at the Omaha World-Herald for more than 15 years. There, she held the posts of copy editor, deputy news and presentation editor (copy desk chief) and deputy features editor for entertainment.
Ziegler has a B.A. in journalism and political science from Iowa State University.
