According to a survey, Americans rely heavily on mobile phones for online news rather than viewing it on a desktop or laptop computer.
The Pew Research Center found that 57 percent of US adults often get news from a smartphone or tablet compared with 30 percent from a PC. Also, the younger generation is more apt to view news on their phones – 72 percent in the 18-29 age bracket compared with 38 percent among those aged 65 and older.
The survey was conducted as online giants such as Google, Facebook and Apple step up with new ways to deliver news.
