Mississippi paper hires Sklar as Southern Mississippi beat reporter

Sam Sklar

Sam Sklar has joined the Hattiesburg American, a Gannett-owned Mississippi paper, as a Southern Mississippi beat reporter. Recently, he was a sports intern at the Sun Sentinel Media Group.

Previously, Sklar freelanced for The Detroit News and interned at CBS Sports. He also held the posts of staff reporter, sports staff reporter, Michigan state football reporter, sports editor and senior Michigan state hockey reporter at The State News, Michigan State University’s student newspaper.

Sklar graduated from Michigan State University.
