Susan Matthews, host of the Slate Plus podcast “Slow Burn,” has returned to the Slate newsroom as executive editor.
Previously, Matthews worked as a science editor, features editor and news director at Slate. Before joining Slate, she was an associate web editor and then senior web editor at the nonprofit National Audubon Society.
She was a trends reporter at Everyday Health and an editorial fellow at Popular Science.
Matthews has a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree from New York University.
