MassLive Media announced Thursday that Joshua Macht has been named the new president of the company, bringing in an experienced executive with deep roots in both Massachusetts and digital publishing.
A former editor and general manager of Time Magazine and Time.com, Macht grew up in Massachusetts, lives in Newton and “brings to us a rich background in growing digital media businesses and a deep respect for the journalism that we do,” Regional President Tim Kennedy said.
Macht worked at Time from 2002 to 2006 and then spent 16 years in leadership positions at Harvard Business Publishing. He started his career in the 1990s working at Inc. magazine in Boston. He serves on the board of directors of the Bates Business Network at Bates College and is a board member of the Online Publishers Association.
