Mason to join BBC News as political editor

Chris Mason

BBC News has tapped Chris Mason as a political editor. Mason has been with the BBC for two decades and currently hosts Radio 4’s “Any Questions” program, a role he will continue until the summer.

His new role begins in May 2022.

Mason was also a former host of Newscast, has previously worked on the BBC’s Westminster regional desk and was a political reporter at BBC Radio 5 Live. He also spent two years in Brussels as Europe correspondent.

In 2012, he was appointed political correspondent.

Mason has a M.A. from the University of Cambridge and a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism from City, University of London.
