Brian Lyman, state capital reporter at Alabama’s Montgomery Advertiser, tweeted:
“On Nov. 14, I’ll be moving over to @statesnewsroom to help launch a new site covering Alabama politics and state government. We’ll be joining the nonprofit’s network of coverage in about 30 other states, and I’m thrilled to be serving as editor.”
Lyman has been with the Advertiser for more than 11 years. He was an assistant web editor at the Mobile Press-Register, where he also covered Alabama state government.
He has also reported for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Norwich Bulletin in Connecticut, and the Anniston Star in Alabama, where he also served as a State Capitol correspondent.
Lyman has a B.A. from Fordham University and M.S. from Columbia University.
