Lozada to join the NY Times as Opinion columnist

Carlos Lozada

Carlos Lozada will join The New York Times as an Opinion columnist. Lozada starts on September 1.

Lozada has been serving as nonfiction book critic at The Washington Post since 2015. Before that, he served as Sunday Outlook editor, national security editor and economics editor. He was managing editor at Foreign Policy.

He was an adjunct professor of American political journalism for Notre Dame’s Washington program from 2009 to 2021 and currently serves on the advisory council of Notre Dame’s College of Arts and Letters. He is also a member of the Pulitzer board.

Lozada was a Pulitzer finalist in 2018 and won a Pulitzer in 2019.

Lozada earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University.
