Grant LaFleche, who has been with The St. Catharines Standard in Ontario for almost 24 years, most recently as an investigative journalist/columnist will leave to join The Hamilton Spectator.
He begins in May.
LaFleche joined the Standard in 1998 and since then has held various roles, including columnist, education reporter, health and science reporter and investigative crime reporter. He has also been working as a journalist on the investigative team at the Tornoto-based Torstar Corp.
His bylines will continue to appear in the Standard and the Star as both part of the same company, but his focus will shift to the Spectator.
LaFleche graduated from Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
